Shakespeare Marathon 2006 

Well after lots of training and doubts, and one mad weekend training session that turned into a "I can do a marathon" session, Helen does the Shakespeare Marathon.

The forecast says cool with a chance of rain .... the reality was warm and very humid not the conditions you want for doing your first marathon under race conditions. 

With a cut off time of 2 hrs 15 at just before the twelve mile point Helen was going to have to run close to PB just to make the cut off, but she made it with time to spare :-)  

   The expression on Helen's face says it all "Why can't you be the finish marshall !!"

  "At last the finish is in sight" 

   For somebody that had only run the distance once in training in a time of 5 hrs 52, to do this time in what most people agreed were difficult is absolutely fantastic !!!!!

Update: After this Helen said she probably wouldn't do another marathon, but subsequently did the London Marathon in 2010
