Some mixed emotions, the day I finished my employment was both exciting and saddening, exciting because I am about to start on the path of becoming a ski instructor and saddening because the company announced that they were going to make 25 people redundant and cut the remaining employees salary by 10%.
Not so much of a warm up as just our normal Christmas holiday at Sunday River. For a change Helen and I decided that we would not rush out for first lift every day but just took the time to relax and enjoy the skiing.
That said our thanks to Dana Bullen, General Manager of Sunday River for inviting us to join him for some early turns one morning. It turned out to be the best skiing conditions of the holiday, a couple of inches of fresh snow on top freshly groomed trails - PERFECT!.
My personal thanks also go to Dan in the Sunday River Sports tune-shop for sparing the time to teach me the basics of ski maintenance.
